Burning Man 2007

The keepers of the solar array included the Night Docents, to keep an eye on things and answer questions the citizens of Black Rock City may have. Tubby is goofy for solar, so you know he volunteered us both for shifts as docents, running from 12-2am. The visitors were few until the tail end of the night when the light effects' technical difficulties were resolved the first night we worked, but from there it was good times for all.

From the perimeter of the solar array, looking toward the platform for visitors and over the batteries. Looking toward the Man (during re-construction) from the observation platform, overlooking the panels. Looking to the north-ish direction and into the open expanses of the playa.

Looking westernly with the lights of the rebuilding of the Man taking place in the background. The display of power generated and consumed (yes, Tubby made me look at this one often, sigh). One of the numerous wet cell batteries used to store the power for use, collected during the day.
