As much as I'd like to say otherwise, I can't really identify the various
"mutant" and art vehicles surfing around the playa plains --
so I'm sharing them just to offer a glimpse of the creative, imaginative
and wacky vessels on wheels that were making their temporary mark on the
playa and paths around Black Rock City.
This American LaFrance fire truck has been modifed to turn the water
cannon into a flame thrower.
The sign pretty much lets you know what you're up against if you
opt to drive fast and pass them.
An orange cone car surrounded by regular cones, likely hoping to
one day be motorized as well.
A gigantic shopping cart, full of fresh merchandise (part of Sweat
Dream Intrepretation Cafe camp).
One or two of the art cars; some are done
just for show, but many are designed to shuttle citizens randomly
around the playa.
