Adelaide River is a little town of 280 people or so, about an hour's drive south of Darwin along the Stewart Highway. The route here is peppered with small airstrips (after the first Japanese air raid in early 1942, the strips and planes were scattered about). Adelaide River also hosts the Adelaide River War Cemetery, the final resting place of many of those who died as a result of those air raids.

With the police are out, there's a message board for you to jot down any routine requests for service.	Not only do they sell petrol, but you can get diesoline. A gasoline-diesel combination?	Along the side of the road is one of the road trains. This one is a cattle-hauler, currently empty.
Inside the Adelaide River Inn (you can get Barra & Chips, but only if you reach the counter).	Charlie was the starring buffalo in Crocodile Dundee, stuffed after losing his battle with cancer.
