Rotorua has long been a popular place for visitors, drawn here in the early years to the geothermal pools. That aside, it has a large Maori population, so it's a swell place to some and take a seat in the numerous activities. (Of course, we're not so much in that latter audience, but if it's your think, it's here.) The pools have also earned the place the nickname "Sulphur City."

Yup, we started out with a sign this time around. Sorry. The cute clock building is sort of a combination bus depot, tourism office and commerce centre. Looking across Lake Rotorua, which is sitting upwards here of 280 meters above sea level.
The swans and other birds are pretty used to people, and even short ducks with cameras. Driving about, I don't know the last time I saw a double-rainbow, but more importantly... ... I don't know if I've ever seen the colors reverse back through after purple (a bit hard to see, sorry).
