La Grange was definitely the most interesting town of today's lot, even
if it wasn't necessarily the biggest. (Though at 250 people, it was probably
close to being the biggest we saw in Gold Country.)
Any town that can pull off having the same population and elevation
is alright in my book.
Small town, small water towers. With only 250 folks here, I guess
there's little need for big towers.
The San Joaquin County Jail, from 1856 to 1862, next to the store
(no shoplifting here, I suspect).
The downtown area, nearing dusk (if you can even tell from all the
cloud cover).
The Old La Grange Bridge. I didn't find where there's a newer bridge,
but it's definitely the old bridge.
The teeny Catholic church, but it is nestled neatly on a grassy
knoll.
