Our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, was not unlike the rest of us... he had to be born somewhere. It's by no small stroke of luck that he happened to be born at a national historic site (complete with historic web site), to ensure it's preserved for future generations.

For you traveling types, take exit 91 from Interstate 65. It's about 13 miles east of the interstate, and follow the signs.

Well, y'know... I like signs. I guess it was a bit naive to think that after roughly 200 years, there would be much left of a log cabin, but it was worth a shot. The monument built as a monument to his life. There are 56 steps -- one for each year of his life -- leading up to the place.
