April 19, 1995 is one of those dates that for many is forgotten amidst
so many others. If you were a resident or a relative of Oklahoma
City, though, the date is forever remembered with the clarity of senselessness
and destruction.
The outer monument walls begin to describe
what you'll find at the memorial.
From one side, overlooking the pond and
the seats (one for each victim).
Chairs for each of the 168 victims, arranged
to show both adults and children lost that day.
The pond separates the monuments of times,
here facing 9:01am (before the blast)...
... and 9:03am, the minute after the blast
which struck at 9:02am.
One of the search team's thoughts as they
worked the blast site for survivors that day.
