A small town even by small standards, there's only 225 or so folks still
calling Meckling home. The local school closed in 1972, with students
now mostly heading out to the Gayville-Volin Schools in Gayville
(285 or students total). The town is mostly an alfalfa farming community,
as it were.
The sign wasn't impressive, but it doesn't really need
to be.
The main street, most obviously noted by the fact it's, y'know,
paved.
Toby's Lounge is apparently famous for chicken -- handy, as there's
few other options here.
A fixer-upper, even by today's mortgage crisis standards.
One of the non-main roads, given the dirt road-ness, though the
homes are well kept and tidy.
A bit hard to read, but it annouces the fire department. Where,
I'm not sure, but they have a sign.
