Richmond is the state capital of Virginia. And on it sits the state capitol
buildings. (And yes, today I finally looked up the difference between
"capital" and "capitol"... and good thing I did, since
it's a bit confusing.)
Despite our first impression, this isn't the state capitol building.
Rather...
... this monument announces that the capitol building is right here,
and this...
... is what it looks like today. Apparently, we caught it during
renovation.
The Virginia War Memorial. The back wall is actually glass, with
the names
of fallen troops on it.
Lurking away from downtown are traces of the tobacco industry, including
that of Lucky Strike.
Princess Di is painted on the side of the Velvet Gentlemen's Club
