Ignoring the fiasco of our arrival in Charleston (which we blame on United
Express and Avis), we found ourselves wandering around West Virginia's
state capital. For the largest city, at 54,000 people, it's still small
enough to possess it's own particular charm.
From the airport, admittedly, the city's sign is less than impressive
-- but, at least we found one.
From several streets downtown, the dome of the state capital building.
Where there's gold domes, there's official government buildings.
In this case, the W. Virginia capital.
The War Memorial that stands a few yards from the front of the state's
capital buildings.
One of the numerous bridges spanning the Kanawha River running along
Charleston's banks.
Just a brick building. Nothing particularly special about it beyond
it's made of brick (sorry).
