Skagway is neither the biggest nor the most accessible community in Alaska, but unlike its state capital in Juneau, it's at least connect to the rest of the world by road. The Klondike Gold Rush that set off in 1896-1897 put the town on the map, and it's managed to hang on long after the last miner called it quits.

I failed to find any city signs, but in a pinch, the post office does the job.	Glancing from the south end of Broadway (and town) up along the touristy street.	And a few blocks up, looking back down Broadway toward 'the end.'
The Railroad Building (c. 1900) is now home to Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park's office.	Gotta love the combined truth in advertising AND marketing angle for this ex-brothel.	Away from the tourist street and wooden sidewalks still sits a very neat little community.
