Given everything is labeled as Amargosa- something, it's Amargosa Valley, and the like, I get the weird feeling that at one point, this place was called something other than Death Valley Junction. But who am I to criticize? (No population count; population records apparently don't count unincorporated locations... wacky databases.)

Yup, it's a sign. And I'm in front of it. Big whoop.	The Amargosa Hotel and Opera House. Which surprised me when I learned they have a web site. And, it mentions right up front there is no TV and no telephones... in keeping with traditions of the past.
