Nestled on the western edge of Colorado sits Grand Junction.  It's not as petite as Petticoat Junction, but it didn't have a water tower, either..

41,000 people - ain't nothing to sneeze at, particularly here and at this elevation. Parks nice enough for schools to want to use them for field trips and outings. A Greyhound station that people actually use for travel (versus a place to sell illicit substances).
(Although the Grayhound station thing may be related to the police station across the street.) And could any town be complete without a pawn shop?  (And it's not near the police station.)
