Makaha, like every other place that is NOT Honolulu,
is only a place as defined by the Census Bureau, and is not an official
town. It's also about the last things in terms of any form of civilization
before six or so miles of road that effectively dead-ends in Kaena Park.
Lacking a good sign or even a post office, I thought this graffiti-like
wall 'Makaha' worked nicely.
Few of the streets off the one main highway through town have sidewalks;
few need them, either.
The scenery surrounding this little town is rather pleasant, if
not impressive.
A big ol' resort? Maybe once, if ever, but now it's just some giant
condos, or so the sign implied.
Scenery pleasant? Now, this fell well into the impressive category
in my book.
And no, the white dot in the upper left area isn't a plane; I was
told it was Jupiter.
