With an average rainfall of only 37
inches per year (as compared to New York City's 46 inches), it's not
that wet -- just overcast a lot, apparently. But not the day I visited,
really... sure, some gray clouds, but not enough to do a rain dance over.
We rolled into town and saw many of the usual sights, like the stadium
of the Seattle Seahawks.
Pike's
Market, cleverly located on Pike at First, opened in 1907, and
was renovated in the early 70s.
Her sign read: "I have a dream for a Big Mac and shake. Will
you help me reach my dream?"
But the Space Needle, opened in 1962 for the World's Fair, is still
operating daily (ducks are free).
From the top, I could see a pretty nifty view of the skyline of
Seattle's downtown...
... as well as our car, cleverly parked near the KOMO
ABC Channel 4 news vans.
