After we left the hills and returned to the flatlands of the old Pest
side of town, we did a bit of wandering around the shopping areas before
settling in for lunch, and an early ride back to the hotel. (The national
holiday demonstrations were to kick off around 3pm, and it seemed wise
to not be around for those, as police and protest organizers were already
showing up in large numbers.)
From the top of the Old Town, looking into the hills of Buda (and
how it's clearly not the flat town).
Some things just don't translate nearly as well as they could, seen
here at the local Burger King.
Local charm meets modern ads, as T-Mobile (T-Com here) adorns the
phone with their pink handset.
With this being a national holiday, police queue up as demonstrators
converge at one of the bridges.
Leaving the demonstration area-to-be, one of the cute historic streets
with trinket vendors along the way.
Not sure what building it is on the right, but I thought its reflection
in the glass one on the left was neat.
