With temperatures now hovering around 24°F (-4°C), it was dark,
cold, and we were facing a slight breeze. For reasons of piss poor planning,
Tubby was without gloves. But as this is mostly about me, no worries --
I was fine.
From the day time, the sunburst sculpture, "Little
Star (Petite Estoile)" was done up by some French folks. It's
really cool in its 3-D design, even if the photos and light don't
do it justice.
Entering the place day or night is through the igloo, which has
nearly 5'6" in headroom - roomy!
"Panda's Sacred Garden" from four Chinese folks. I was
really impressed with the detail of it all.
The "On Time" sculpture we saw in the day light, with
more lights and minus a guy standing in front.
"Mother's Pearl", by Junichi Nakamua. Again, the amount
of detail carved into ice is incredible.
