| 6:45am |
The alarm sounded, and ready for
a new day and week, we both leapt to the floor. |
| 6:47am |
It took a moment, but we then found ourselves wondering why we did
that... sleeping in until 10am was nice. |
| 7:08am |
Now quite annoyed we did all that
leaping, we arrived at the train station. The train is 9 minutes
out. |
| 7:17am |
We're on the train, less annoyed... and a tad amused -- it's a school
day, thus, school
uniforms (ha-ha!). |
| 7:24am |
Now who's laughing... them.
We arrive at the office, pop open a Coke, and the day begins.
... of course, the events of the day aren't interesting, so we'll
fast forward to the ride home. |
| 6:55pm |
We hop the train on Platform 1 back to Circular Quay, and the
usual transfer at Wynyard. |
| 7:24pm |
Yeah. We're back at the hotel, manage
to lighten the load of several bags, and venture out for food. |
| 7:32pm |
Owing to the fact we've yet to wander along this end of George Street,
we give it a go. |
| 7:38pm |
Five blocks later, we find (yet another)
McDonalds, and a Hungry Jack. Back at the Wynyard train station. |
| 7:41pm |
After a brief and losing battle with ourselves, we venture in.
The girl behind the counter, Jennifer, is both cheerful and pleasant,
and didn't once make us feel stupid for ordering items off the menu
just as they were written. We're also taken aback by the fact
that we ordered almost the same thing as in Burger King (one extra
chicken nugget here), and a different name for the soda, and the total
was nearly $2 (AUS) less. Interesting. |
| 7:46pm |
The liner of the tray talks about
the Whopper,
featured here at Hungry Jack's. Issues I have with this, to
wit:
- 113 grams of beef. How did we arrive at such a random
figure for the size? It's the fourth prime number over
100?
- How can Hungry Jack's Whopper have a world famous reputation
if we've never heard of it before now?
- How can a burger be world famous, if it's comprised of Australian
prime beef? Wouldn't we need to import this fantastic
meat worldwide, to the balance of other Whopper-serving restaurants?

| 7:48pm |
In a surprising twist, as shown in this poor quality photo, the
french
fries container is made by Burger King. Curious. |
| 7:54pm |
Observers described the gesture as
"bold", but we got up and left, realising that we didn't
care that much, truth be told. Dinner was consumed, at a $2
savings from expectation, and a soda to take away and be consumed
on our walk back to the hotel. |
| 8:18pm |
Our homework from the office folks was to watch The Matrix
and Star Wars: Episode I. While we gave both a
go on the laptop, neither wanted to play, complaining about display
quality. Even after we fussed with it a bit. |
| 9:26pm |
After lolly-gagging about the place
for a spell, it seemed only fitting that we retire for the evening,
what with it being such a rich and productive night and all. |
