Unlike its capital city neighbor to the north (Edmonton,
if you're not paying attention), Calgary has all the trappings of a big
city, minus people running around in leotards and soliciting. On the other
hand, I found little in Calgary that really drew me in and compelled me
to stay for hours and hours. But of what I did see...
The Olympic Rings, or something like that, was on the map. This
was all I could find at that site.
The skyline, as seen from the edge of town. I'm guessing the tower
is a required skyline thing.
The monorail, I would guess, isn't nearly as busy as it was in '88
at the height of the Olympics.
It's always sort of a bummer when a long-standing institution finally
closes its doors.
Like the Jasper date yesterday, this couple
apparently sleeps with the homeless under the stairs.
