I realize that Day 0 has sort of the same association as Ground Zero
or Zero Hour, but let's face it, the trip hasn't officially started, but
I'm already under way. (This was actually a brilliant idea of the travel
buddy, who figured an overnight near the hotel before our 8:10am flight
beat the heck out of waking up before the roosters and flying along the
highway to the airport before dawn.)

I hear a knock on the door. It’s the girl with
whom I'm to travel, Rachel, and her mother. They’re here to
pick me up for our overnighter close to the airport -- Rachel suggested
we stay near the airport to we could sleep in. I completely agree
with this splendid idea (the boy has never had an idea this clever,
of course). |

We roll into the Homewood
Suites by Hilton. They had a lovely
sign proclaiming themselves and Elena,
who checked us in, was nice enough to become a FrankPal. This great
hotel place also gave me directions to the cinema in the next town
over by means of a print out, no less! I meandered out to the gray-colored
water to see
the view. It was that or the Hitachi building, of which I figured
was not even worth photographing. |

We [three kings] headed for Quiznos for food and a dash to see Win
a Date With Tad Hamilton (which I then spoiled, of course). I
nibbled on some chips and didn’t even have to spend a dime on
the flick! |
| 10:32pm |
I made sure all the necessities were
packed, and the girl’s mother, Deanna,
insisted on becoming a FrankPal, too. Yea! I am liking this hotel
more and more -- they’re very duck
oriented, I found. |
