The one-cent coin doesn't exist in New Zealand... cash registers will
round to the nearest five-cent increment, unless you choose to pay by
non-cash means (bank cheque, credit or debit card, etc.)... in those cases,
the bill is rounded to the nearest penny. And credit cards are generally
all lumped into EFTPOS (electronic funds transfer, point-of-sale).
The smallest paper bill is $5, then $10, $20, and I've
seen $50, but it's not shown here. (And the anti-counterfeiting clear
window is here in the lower left and center right.)
The coins are the $2 and $1 (gold, top left and top
center), the 50c, and on the second row, 10c, 5c, and One Florin...
but I'm not sure what that one represents. The 20c coin isn't shown,
but there is one... but having seen and then spent one in short order,
the looks like the Florin, size-wise. (And apparently, use c
-- not ¢ symbol -- for cents.)
