As we motored from the Auckland International Airport into Auckland proper,
we stopped off and had a look about the Mangere Bridge area of Manukau.
It seems there are only a few proper cities in the area, and most cities
are broken down into districts or communities... thus, we were wandering
about in the Mangere Bridge area of Manukau.
Not one to splurge on signs, we had to take our locale identity
from a park sign; also nice to sit on.
The church seems to use its backyard as a cemetery, which suits
everyone just fine, I s'pose.
Not to be confused with 10-pin bowling, lawn bowling lends well-groomed
laws to the scenery.
Roundabouts seems to be the way of life at intersections. Just remember
to Give Way (yield).
Tip Tops seem to be the equal of 7-11s in America. We found the
news story on the left a bit odd.
The public restrooms are quite nice, really, and virtually no graffiti,
which came as a bit of a surprise.
A view of town as looking back from the park on the edge of town,
near the old Mangere Bridge.
