Okay, so the plan was to spend the night in Napier, this Pacific Ocean
coastal town known for its art deco architecture and stuff. But y'know,
I just wasn't feeling it, so after a look around and sinking 70c into
a parking meter, we were off to find new adventures. And whatever else
it is I look for when I'm looking for stuff.
There's just something magical about a sign. Except those that are
sorta boring, like this one.
Live at the Napier Bowl? Nope, that just doesn't sound
as cool as the Hollywood Bowl.
But this art deco building is a Napier original, so I'll give 'em
partial credit on this assignment.
I figure I could either should you the one couple on the beach today,
or this. Whaddya think?
The (mostly) pedestrian shopping mall, complete with an unusual
amount of palm trees. Alas.
How's that for considerate? The railroad crossing bells are turned
off during late-night hours...
