Sandspit. It's listed on the local map, but aside from being the Mansion
House, a mansion turned museum once owned by Sir George Grey, you won't
find a vast number of people rushing here and causing a traffic jam. But
because I went, I figured it's worth every penny to share what I found.
It was the closest I found to a town sign -- the sign telling you
to slow down to 50 km as you arrive.
As you descend the hill to the town area, there's a
turn-out that affords you something of a view -- but it would help
if it wasn't all rainy and overcast, which causes a bit of a gloom
over the place.
As you get closer, you can see the homes of some of those who live
or holiday out here.
But today, the parking lot hints that this wasn't one of the prime
days to pay a visit.
The boats berthed in the bay are a reflection of what the parking
lot just told us, it seemed.
