Tombstone is about 30 or so miles off of Interstate 10 at exit 303 in
Arizona (about 50 miles outside of Tuscon). Things like the gunfight at
the O.K. Corral can stake a claim to fame here, as well as Boothill Cemetery
and things of that nature. I took lots of pictures, of course, the highlights
are here...
The sign. Duh.
The courthouse building, but it seems when the county seat moved
in the 1920s, so did court.
A view of the downtown street, more or less as it appeared in the
1880s, minus the cars.
A different part of the same street.
The O.K. Corral is walled off and is now a daily show (at 2pm, but
we arrived a bit after 5pm, dang).
I have to admit, they may have been on to something big here.
The sign speaks for itself, I think.
Each pile of rocks is a grave, although many are simply "unknown."
A few are labeled, including how they died, and whether or not their
death was sanctioned by the law.
