Chiriaco Summit was the home of Camp Young, established by General Patton as a training site during World War II. After the war, Joseph Chiriaco (yes, that's where the name came from), donated some of his land there to establish the General George S. Patton Museum. (And with everything here, while I may link to something, I will not claim or represent that it is well-written, or in this case, grammatically correct throughout.)

This town has no sign (other than the highway signs). How about a blurry historic marker? The entrance to the museum. Which is far as I got; I'm not a big fan of World War II, actually. Just sort of hanging out west of the parking lot are several WWII era tanks. Nice hardware, eh?
Growing from a museum + post office size town to a gas station and Fosters Freeze - big steps! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't part of construction mean dust is going to emerge from here? Enough said -- you set foot (or tire) on the road, you're on your own.
