| 3:20pm (PDT) |
Tubby and I checked in at the United
counter, and with the usual efficiency, got checked into the |
| 3:27pm |
We cleared the security check in area, and Tubby went and parked
his toosh and began reading a Clancy book. One of those thick Clancy
books, not one of those ghost-written ones of late. |
| 4:29pm |
We board the plane, hit seat 8-A,
and I suspect the boy hit the guy in 7-D with his backpack; the guy
didn't actually say anything, so we didn't apologize. |
| 4:52pm |
Our 737-500 takes off, right on time. Well, mostly on time (departure
was 4:50pm, I believe). |
| 7:44pm (MDT) |
The plane touched down in Denver,
27 minutes early. Which meant we get to sit in the middle of nowhere
and wait for a gate to open up... and we're now in Mountain Daylight
Time, or Pacific Time + 1 hour. |
| 8:03pm |
We get assigned to gate B-24, bringing us into the terminal exactly
eight minutes before we were originally set to arrive. So... we basically
lost 19 of those 27 minutes we arrived early with the nice tail wind
and such. |
| 8:51pm |
After getting all the baggage and
the cluster of travel folks (five other adults in addition to Tubby),
we head out to the Hertz rental lot. |
| 8:57pm |
Once on the freeway, we were the second car in the caravan of two,
eventually heading south on I-25. |
| 9:44pm |
The 21 mile trip from the airport
to the hotel actually took 37 miles. Apparently, we took the scenic
route to go by something or another, but I wasn't much paying attention. |
| 10:02pm |
I'm left behind while Tubby heads downstairs to hang out with the
co-workers. I mostly padded around our
room with the non-smoking king-size bed.
|
| 11:29pm |
Tubby returned, so I made him help
me with the update, and we're done. |
