On our journey between two West Virginian cities, we wandered along the
Ohio River Scenic Byway, and actually had the intention of wandering through
Pomeroy... it was well worth the stop-and-see.
I don't know much about Valentine Horton, but I do know the nearby
dogs didn't like me by their home.
The Ohio River runs along the front of the majority of the front
of Pomeroy and its businesses.
Along the river, opposite the stores, is a recreation area, complete
with gazebos and stuff.
The state trooper is just garnish, really; the intent was the neat-o
brick store fronts.
This lil' ol' building has been standing here since 1885. Not bad,
eh?
Pomeroy is also the county seat of this, Meigs County.
