This place has it all - a big ol' temple, the fame of being the state
capital AND largest city in the state (staggering, when you consider it's
perhaps 185,000 people in a state of over 2 million), and consistent with
the observation about larger cities, there wasn't any sign to be seen
and photogfsraphed beside.
Obviously, the city is near a lake -- Salt
Lake. Hence, here's the lake to make it Salt Lake City.
The Salt Palace Convention Center.
Lovely on the outside, I guess. Closed, of course.
Why all the salt references? Probably
because of the vast salt flats outside of the city, etc...
In the beginning, we started at the Assembly
Hall...
Wandered over to the Temple itself (which
is smaller than I thought, but still really big)...
And eventually over to the Tabernacle,
where those choir types hang out and sing at times.
So, to summarize - carry the bright orange
flag if you don't want to get hit by a car; nice.
Not the most fascinating of police cars,
but it'll do in a pinch, I suppose.
I was informed the Delta Center was something
worth taking a picture of... why, I don't know.
