I stopped in Springfield in my on-going search to see if there is a real
version of The SimpsonsSpringfield. While this
clearly wasn't it, it was an adorable town, from end to end.
Starting with the carved sign, this town seems to be just adorable,
without question.
This was first built in 1870, and moved and reconditioned here in
1969-1970.
This schoolhouse was built in 1790, and used continuously until
1900 -- the oldest in Vermont.
While it looks okay from here, the house on the right is empty and
has pigeons under the roof line.
There was also a cute little stream running down the middle of town.
(Well, "middle," give or take.)
