About 29 km (roughly 18miles) outside of Katherine is Nitimuk National
Park, home of Katherine's Gorge. Here, you can hike, canoe or boat along
the gorge, and hike as far as Edith Falls,
although that's a way's off. Being the laziest of ducks, I elected for
the boat cruise. Tubby didn't mind. Lots of scenery, so I figured we'll
start with the critters, then leapt to the scenery.
At the far end of the gorge, we found ourselves a fresh-water crocodile
sunning himself.
And this was one of two turtles that seems quite keen on swimming
right up to boats.
Brandon teased these two with an offer to tow 'em back, then backed
out when they said yes.
And from here on our, just gorge pictures and sights
from our float downstream.
