The Rhine River snakes through a good portion of Austria, providing both
a place for boat cruises and commercial ships to make their living up
and down its watery passage. We traveled along it for a few hours as we
headed from Vienna through Melk,
but we didn't slow down, so bits may be a tad blurry.
This empty barge tugs upstream as it shares the water lanes with
tourist boats.
I suspect this is more than erosion, but they didn't have it planted
with anything, so...?

This castle is perched high above the river; no roads to it even
today, so it's a four hour hike to reach it.
